Here’s what you need to know to better communicate your needs to us, whether you’re a new customer (welcome!) or you’ve been around a while.

It’s true. Nothing makes us happier than when we hit it off with great customers, and are able to deliver five-star translations because we’ve learned exactly what they want.
Many of us have core clients with whom we are very close, and for whom we’ve created amazing medical content in many languages. They provide guidance, reach out to us, encourage us to ask questions, pitch ideas, and welcome suggestions.
They’re getting the most out of the BioLingo platform. If you’d love that kind of rapport with a stable support team, it’s a good idea to learn what makes us more efficient.
BETTER TEAMWORK THROUGH TRANSPARENCY
Like you, we’re pros. We take medical translation seriously, and we’re concerned about the quality of our product. That means that, like you, we’re looking for the perfect match: a customer who understands that we only promise what we can deliver.
Just as you can request our translators’ profiles, we can get a sense of who you are as a customer through the BioLingo Connect dashboard, where we study your past comments, quote revisions, purchase history, current translation requests, and style preferences. These sources give us the information we require to tailor translations to your specific needs—from brand voice and tone, to documents that accommodate readers at different literacy levels.
THE MORE INFORMATION YOU GIVE US, THE BETTER!
Feel free to elaborate when you submit translation requests. Instructions with important key points really help us provide you with our best work, and give us the confidence that you’ll love our translations.
We want to get to know your healthcare organization and understand your patient-provider communication concerns. Please take the time to write detailed instructions for each document and use the comment section to give us as much information as you think is required for us to understand your needs. Be sure to upload any relevant materials along with your documents, such as reference materials, translation memories or glossaries, if you have any. You can also help us create glossaries for your target audience. Provide as much information as you can about preferred words, and how you would like us to handle medical jargon. It also helps to be specific about the register and literacy level you prefer. This information will help us understand your healthcare organization’s translation goals.
By now, you probably get the idea that we like feedback, and want plenty of it. That being said, there are a few things that we ask you to avoid.
Please don’t upload previous bad translations as an example of what you don’t want us to do.
Don’t ask us to translate someone else’s brochures and put your brand name on them. This is due to copyright issues, as you might imagine.
If your project has a high word count make sure to set up a reasonable deadline. Quality takes time, even with the best translation team in the world. Whoever says otherwise is misguiding you.
Please don’t ask us to rewrite the original document in order to translate it.

There’s nothing that makes us happier than getting five-star reviews and glowing comments, but we can’t always inspire those accolades without further collaboration from you. If you have an issue with your translation, consider taking a moment to let us know what was lacking. This way, we can straighten it out for you and get it right from now on.
BioLingo has created a very transparent feedback system. You will receive a translation survey at the end of the project. This information remains in BioLingo Connect and is visible to the management team.
